WORKING DAY

All quoted labour rates are based on a 10 hour day on location, unless previously agreed. Please see section on Travel time.

If longer shoot days are expected special 12-hour and 14-hour day rates, including travel time, can be agreed prior to filming day.

 

OVERTIME (OT)

OT is charged at 1.5xT (time and a half) for the first 2 hours over a 10 hour working day.

OT is then charged at 2xT (double time) every hour thereafter.

OT is also subject to employment regulations about rest time between calls to base.

Equipment hire is exempt from OT charges; unless part of an "all-in" deal.

"All-in" daily rates are subject, in full, to OT charges.

 

DATA TRANSFER (DIT)

DIT off location and after shoot is charged at hourly rate based on working day rate. (min. 1 hour) unless another arrangement is agreed prior to filming day.

Data storage is also provided for a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 30 days after the filming day.

No guarantees are made as to the reliability of storage drives.

 

TRAVEL TIME

Travel time is always paid at single time, regardless of time, or day of the week. If travel time & working time total less than 10 hours, then no travel time is payable. On working days travel time spent travelling, less the first hour of the outward and homeward journey, will be paid at the basic hourly rate per crew member.

 

CHARGED @ COST

Public transport, any necessary parking & Congestion Charges and road tolls.

Insurance premium for hired in equipment. (Unless already covered by production insurance)

 

 

NON-SHOOTING DAYS

Non-Shooting Day is a working day on which shooting does not take place. The non-shooting working day shall be eight hours, charged at your basic hourly rate. Overtime will begin after 8 hours and will be charged at standard overtime rate.

Non-shooting day is a rest day, a prep day, a recce day, a pre-light day, a construction (built) or strike day. See below the individual specifics:

Rest Day is a non-shooting working day when you at production’s request remain on location but filming is not taking place for some reason. You will be paid a flat fee which is your basic daily rate, no overtime, penalties or meal compensations apply. This applies on any day of the week.

Prep Day, Recce Day, Construction Day & Strike Day is a non-shooting working day which consists of 8 hours, charged at your basic hourly rate.

Overtime will begin after 8 hours and will be charged at standard overtime rate.

Pre-light Day (crew working on a dedicated location/at studio as instructed by production) is a non-shooting working day which consists of 8 hours + 1 hours for lunch, charged at your basic hourly rate. Overtime will begin after 9 hours and will be charged at standard overtime rate.

The above does not apply to DOP, Art Directors and Location Managers, for those crew members each day of engagement is considered as Basic Working Day and they work on the basic working day basis of 10 hours. Overtime applies after 10 hours.

 

 

CANCELLATIONS

Once a shoot is confirmed in writing, cancellations within 24 hours or less of call time, will be charged in full (100%) at the agreed rate.

Cancellations 3 – 2 days prior to the engagement – 75% of the agreed fee.

6 – 4 days prior to the engagement – 50% of the agreed fee.

7 and more days prior to the engagement – 25% of the agreed fee.

 

All invoices must be paid in a timely fashion in accordance to the payment terms of the invoice.

Invoices left unpaid beyond the agreed timeframe will be subject to late payment charges of 10% of the invoice amount per week.

Debts unpaid after 30 days of the invoice date are subject to statutorily enforceable late payment terms.

Interest charged and collection fee to be charged in accordance with gov.uk guidelines.

Please note that unless a signed contract is in place Roll Cameras Ltd do not recognise implied Terms & Conditions of an employer as a condition of booking or work. Roll Cameras crew are happy to to discuss unique terms on a job by job basis and are willing to sign negotiated terms but unless a signed contract is in place we commit to a job booking under the above Terms & Conditions.
