John P.

FOUNDER | DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

John, or JP, is the Founder of Roll Cameras. Having studied film making and lighting techniques from British Director Ken Russell while at university, JP has become an accomplished Director of Photography, with over 15 years’ experience of a variety of production genres.

Well travelled, JP has successfully filmed numerous projects for broadcasters, agencies and production companies in the UK and overseas, in varying location types. From setting and lighting for drama and commercials, capturing actuality and live action on location and in studio, to on-location interviews with Hollywood superstars, CEOs or the man on the street, JP is well versed in achieving the Producer/Director’s look goal.

Darryl

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY | CAMERA OPERATOR (FREELANCE)

Darryl is a freelance member of the Roll Cameras team and an accomplished Lighting Cameraman with more than 14 years of shooting experience. He has spent much of his career working for big brands, creative agencies and independent production companies, filming all types of projects all over the UK and Europe on a variety of camera types.

Darryl is skilled in creative lighting and camera operating, including gimbal rigs and sliders. He has a sixth sense about the best approach to any filming situation wherever he finds himself, and is a master of the small footprint camera crew production.

MALCOLM

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY   |   CAMERA OPERATOR   (FREELANCE)

Malcolm is a DOP with 14 years experience in the industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects in the creative, commercial and corporate sectors and considers his range of experience to be his biggest skill set. Starting his career in television working mostly in light entertainment / celebrity TV, he has progressed to work on commercial productions, music videos and high end corporate films.

Based in London for 13 years, he has produced work for BBC ,ITV, Ch4, Ch5, Disney, Sky, Discovery, and Universal, both in the UK and internationally.

He aims to always bring the same enthusiasm and innovation to any project, using skilled consistent camera work and passion for visual storytelling. Quick thinking, he has experience with gimbals, sliders and other grip.

John C.

FOUNDER | UAV / DRONE PILOT

John C is also a Founder of Roll Cameras and is the in-house UAV/Drone Pilot.

After a distinguished career working for multi-national corporations in the city and having been a trained pilot for more than 25 years, John C took his passion for all things aeronautical and passed the CAA UAV Licence in 2015.

His knowledge of the CAA’s Rules & Regulations for the Commercial Use of UAV/Drones means Roll Cameras will not only capture the best creative shots, we’ll also comply with legal and health and safety regulations to ensure a successful aerial shoot for your project.

Bart

DIRECTOR | DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY   |   (FREELANCE)

Bart is an accomplished DOP and Director and works regularly for major broadcasters such as the BBC. With a wealth of experience of directing music videos and branded content as well as a 15+ years of experience of multi-camera studio shoots, Bart can tip his cap to directing or DOP-ing.

Based in Norwich, but available to work anywhere in the UK and beyond, Bart is equally at home in the studio as he is out on location.
